“Paradise Lost: Tales of Colonial Oppression and Resistance in Hawai’i” will be the subject of a presentation by Judy Rohrer on Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 12-1 p.m. in the Bone Student Center Third Floor East Lounge. The event is free and open to the public.
.Rohrer is an associate professor of women’s studies at Texas Woman’s University. She has published on race and colonization in Hawai’i, gay marriage, disability studies, and citizenship in Racial & Ethnic Studies, borderlands, Feminist Studies, The Contemporary Pacific, and American Quarterly. She is the author of Haoles in Hawai’i.
Her presentation is part of Illinois State University’s International Studies Seminar Series exploring topics in global politics and culture. The seminar series is organized by the Unit for International Linkages, Office of International Studies and Programs, and the Women’s Studies Program.
