Illinois State University’s School of Theatre will present Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure Oct. 27, 28, 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 30 and 31 at 2 p.m. in Westhoff Theatre. Tickets for the production are $7 and may be purchased at Illinois State’s Center for the Performing Arts ticket office.
The play centers on the fate of Claudio who is arrested by Lord Angelo, the temporary leader of Vienna, on charges of sexual impropriety. Angelo, who is strict, moralistic and unwavering in his decision-making, has decided that there is too much freedom in Vienna and takes it upon himself to rid the city of brothels and unlawful sexual activity.
