Sarah Gentry, associate professor of violin in Illinois State University’s School of Music, will present a free recital of solo violin works on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Kemp Recital Hall. The concert is part of the School of Music’s Charles W. Bolen Faculty Recital Series.
Gentry will perform Partita No. 2 in D Minor, BWV 1004 by Johann Sebastian Bach; Sonatina for Solo Violin by Andreas Makris; Fantasy No. 7 in Eb Major, TWV 40:20 by Georg Philipp Telemann; Niccolo Paganini’s Caprice Op. 1, No. 23 in Eb Major and Sonata for Solo Violin, “Ballade,” Op. 27, No. 3 by Eugène Ysaÿe.
