Thomas Metcalf School’s 2nd and 5th grade students created artwork to sell as part of the collaborative Shells for New Jersey Shores fundraiser.
The art show opening was Saturday, December 15, at the Coffee Hound in Uptown Normal. Artwork sold for $5 each, in addition to a selection of donated works from local artists sold in a silent auction. All money raised will benefit St. Rose High School in Belmont, New Jersey, where the art, music, and theater rooms were completely destroyed during Hurricane Sandy.
Fifth-grade Metcalf artwork will be on display at the Coffee Hound until January 5, and 2nd grade Metcalf artworks will be on display until Wednesday, December 19. Donations are still being accepted until Friday, December 21. Please contact Miss Finnegan or Mrs. Mohrman for details.
