The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a national day of service to honor his commitment and contributions to the Civil Rights Movement and social justice. Join Leadership and Community Connections from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Monday, January 19, and serve the local community in King’s memory.
This year’s event will feature Dean of Students Dr. Art Munin in 138 Schroeder who will deliver opening remarks before the service begins. Students will then travel to the service sites and volunteer from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Leadership and Community Connections will provide transportation to service sites as needed.
Registration for the event is required, but participants will choose the location they would like to serve the day of the event. Faculty and staff volunteers are also encouraged to participate in the day of service as well.
If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about participating in MLK Jr. Day of Service, contact Leadership and Community Connections at (309) 438-7346.
