Thanks to all of the family and friends who attended the Mennonite College of Nursing (MCN) commencement ceremony on May 8 in Braden Auditorium.
There were 88 graduates who received their B.S.N. degrees. From the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program, 21 students received their M.S.N. degrees, and one student graduated with the FNP post-master’s certificate. There was also one student who graduated from the online nursing systems administration program.
The college would like to thank President Larry Dietz, Provost Janet Krejci, the Board of Trustees, Illinois State’s administrative officers, MCN administration, faculty and staff who participated in this event. Voice performance major Christie Duffer did a beautiful job singing the National Anthem and University Hymn to the music provided by the ISU Wind Symphony. We would also like to recognize Ryan Denham from University Marketing and Communications for introducing the graduates, and thank the president of the Alumni Association, Bob Navarro, for welcoming our new graduates into the Alumni Association. Jessica Carroll gave a wonderful student reflection speech, and M.S.N. graduate Robin Trost led the B.S.N. graduates in the International Nursing Pledge. It was a very special ceremony!
The following 2015 award winners were also announced during the ceremony:
Dr. Tiedeman Memorial Award – Paige Suva
