Metcalf School’s boys baseball team finished off a great season in fine fashion last weekend. The team made history by becoming the only Metcalf baseball team to play in the IESA (Illinois Elementary School Association) state championship game.
The team had a great October 2 to get started with a convincing win over Effingham St. Anthony 13-3 and then took on Roanoke-Benson and won 11-0 before losing to three-peat champion Joliet St. Paul in the final.
It was a great season for the boys with many memories made by hard work and perseverance. Congratulations, Wildcats!
