Make a child’s wish come true and spread cheer this holiday season!
Holiday Helper gives Illinois State students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to provide gifts and parties for over 200 under-privileged children in the Bloomington-Normal community. Participation is available in the following ways:
Gift Sponsorship: Volunteers can choose one or multiple children from one of our four partner local agencies and purchase gifts based on that child’s top three wants and needs (valuing approximately $40). Come to the Leadership and Community Connections office to sponsor a child today.
Parties: Holiday Helper parties will be December 5 for children in the community and to distribute the gifts collected through Holiday Helper. Student volunteers are needed to help with activities for the children.
Wrap and Pack: Volunteer to help wrap the gifts donated through Holiday Helper. Wrapping takes place December 2 and 3 from 6–9 p.m. in Prairie Room North of the Bone Student Center. Supplies will be provided.
“This event is a great way for students to make a difference in the lives of many under-privileged youth in our local community,” said Colton Johnson, a graduate assistant in Leadership and Community Connections.
