On November 15, Illinois State University Mennonite College of Nursing held an induction ceremony for the Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing Xi Pi Chapter at the Alumni Center.
Interim Dean H. Catherine Miller welcomed the inductees and guests. “We are thrilled to welcome 48 new members into the Xi Pi Chapter,” said Miller. “This is one of our largest ceremonies with 42 traditional B.S.N. students, 2 students from the online RN-B.S.N. program and 4 graduate students.”
The guest speaker at the event was Jill Chamberlain RN, MS, CNE, CHSE, who is a Nursing Research Facilitator at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. The title of her presentation was “The Effect of High-Fidelity Clinical Simulation and Teach-back on the Knowledge and Demonstrated Skills of Blood Pressure Measurement in RNs.” Chamberlain’s research was made possible by a grant from the STTI Xi Pi Chapter.
STTI membership is by invitation to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and to nurse leaders exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing.
