Hyung Sook Kang, ENG, published “Cultivating Intercultural Competencies for Civil Engineering Students in the Era of Globalization: Case Study” in the Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering Education and Practice.
Kim McCord, MUS, was published in Exceptional Music Pedagogy for Children with Exceptionalities: International Perspectives by Oxford University Press. In addition to editing, she contributed three chapters on specified learning disabilities, assistive technology, and international special education law.

Carson Varner and Katrin Varner, COB, presented a paper “Colliding Galaxies on Campus: Free Speech v Equal Opportunity” at the Association for Business Communication – International Convention in Seattle, Washington.
Ana Roncero-Bellido, ENG, presented “Reading, Writing and Knowing with the Body: A Methodology of the Flesh,” at the 10th Biennial Feminisms and Rhetorics Conference 2015 in Tempe, Arizona.
Hyun-Sook Kang, ENG, presented a paper, “Mainstream Teacher Candidates’ Evaluation of ESL Writing: The Effects or Writer Identity and Rater Backgrounds” at the conference of the Midwestern Association of Language Testers at the University of Iowa.
Performances
Geoffrey Duce, MUS, performed at the Bösendorfer Piano Salon in Vienna, Austria, during a European performance and lecture tour.
Amy Gilreath, MUS, toured in October with the Stiletto Brass Quintet for a concert in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and a master class and concert at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. She also presented a class at Western Carolina University and performed the work “Excursions” with WCU trumpet professor Brad Ulrich on a recital honoring composer Bruce Frazier.
David Collier, MUS, performed as timpanist with the Illinois Symphony, the Peoria Symphony, and the Heartland Festival Orchestra during October.
