Illinois State University awarded the following individuals with doctoral degrees:
Timothy Arnold, Jr. of Shorewood received a doctorate in educational administration. The son of Lynda and Tim Arnold of Normal, he is the husband of Stacie Arnold of Shorewood. Arnold is currently the superintendent of schools in Downers Grove. He received a master’s and bachelor’s degrees in education from Illinois State.
Arnold is a member of the Illinois Association of School Administrators, the Illinois Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Illinois Association of School Business Officials, the Consortium for Educational Change, and Phi Delta Kappa.
Amy Funk of Eureka received a doctorate in nursing. The daughter of Esther Funk of Roanoke, and the late Norman Funk, she is the wife of Dennis O’Rourke of Eureka. Funk is currently a faculty member of Methodist College in Peoria. She received a master’s degree in gerontology and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Illinois University, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Saint Francis College of Nursing.
Funk is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Phi Kappa Phi, the Midwest Nursing Research Society, and the Council for Advancement of Nursing Science.
