Live your adventure this semester with Campus Recreation. The Adventure program will provide a variety of trips and activities throughout the spring semester for you to experience the great outdoors or learn a new skill.
Whether your adventure takes you over land or water, enjoy an experience you won’t soon forget. The semester trip schedule kicks off with some cold weather excursions such as two different winter hikes to frozen waterfalls in Starved Rock State Park. You can also learn to cross-country ski or enjoy a unique perspective in our Night Hike.
Make our Paddling Trip to Florida part of your spring break plans, where we’ll spend several days camping on white sand and snorkeling with manatees from March 5–12. Register for this trip by February 23. The remainder of the trip schedule is filled with a variety of ways to explore the world around you, including stargazing, hiking, climbing, and many paddling trips. More opportunities to learn will also be offered this semester. Learn to lead others through the Adventure Trip Leader Training Course, learn life-saving techniques in the Adult/Pediatric First Aid/CPR AED course, or learn to climb through one of our many belay workshops.
“With so many different adventure opportunities, you’re sure to find something to fit your interests,” said Rachel Iversen, assistant director-Adventure programs. “The schedule we have planned this semester will enable participants to gain new experiences and memories to last a lifetime.”
