John Goodman has been named director of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Office. EHS is responsible for environmental and occupational health and safety and emergency management programs necessary to achieve a healthy and safe environment at Illinois State University.
During his 23 years of experience working with EHS, Goodman has provided oversight and responsibility for the University’s campus sanitation, hazardous waste, industrial hygiene, lead/asbestos, radiation safety, biosafety, and laboratory safety programs.
Goodman was appointed assistant director of the office in 2004, and promoted to associate director in 2012. He serves on the University’s radiation safety committee, biosafety committee, the institutional animal care and use committee, and the Department of Chemistry’s safety committee.
