A growing partnership between Redbird Productions and the School of Communication is giving Illinois State University students professional TV production experience without leaving campus.
Redbird Productions, the official video production unit in Athletics, hires students from the School of Communication to support TV and online broadcasts for Athletics. Redbird Productions gets access to a pipeline of talented communication students, and those same students get a first-class experience in a professional setting.
“This is the ultimate hands-on experience for TV and sports production. This is it,” said Phil Faso, a former Redbird Productions student worker. “There are students all over the state that wish they had this type of opportunity to get out and ‘crew’ sports like we have here.”
