Live your adventure this semester with Campus Recreation. The Adventure program will be offering several opportunities this semester for you to soak up the great outdoors or learn a new skill.
Take advantage of several chances to get on the water locally for day trips, such as the Sunset Paddle on August 26 or a Day Paddle on October 1; or join us for a longer journey on our Labor Day Kayak Touring trip September 2-5. If hiking is more your speed, join us September 10 for a hike to Turkey Run State Park or October 22 for our North Fork Trail Day Hike.
If you’ve never tried a Stand Up Paddleboard, or SUP, be sure to attend one of our free workshops hosted in the pool September 15 or 29. Then take your SUP skills outdoors in our trip to nearby Dawson Lake on October 2.
If climbing is your thing, be sure to sign up for one of our Belay Workshops hosted at various times from August to October to fit your schedule. You can also learn new skills in our Kayak Rescues Workshop on September 18, our Adventure Trip Leader Training Course from October 14-16, and our First Aid/CPR/AED course on October 25.
You will also have the opportunity to gaze into outer space in the Stargazing trip on October 12. The semester schedule wraps up with our popular caving trip to Mammoth Caves in Kentucky from November 19-22.
“We’ve got a great lineup planned for the entire semester,” said Assistant Director of Adventure Programs Rachel Iversen. “There are a wide variety of activities for everyone to find their next adventure.”
