Honors
Jakeet Singh, POL, was awarded the Okin-Young Award. The award is co-sponsored by Women and Politics, Foundations of Political Theory, and the Women’s Caucus for Political Science. This annual award recognizes the best paper on feminist political theory published in an English language academic journal during the previous calendar year. Singh received the award for his article “Religious Agency and the Limits of Intersectionality” published in Hypatia.

Matthew Himley, GEO, contributed a chapter to the book titled, “Mining in Latin America: Critical Approaches to the New Extraction.”
Nancy Lind and Erik Rankin, POL, have co-edited a volume with Gardenia Harris titled Today’s Economic Issues: Democrats and Republicans. The volume has been published by ABC-CLIO in the “Across the Aisle” series.
Fred Smith, ANT, co-authored “The assimilation model of modern human origins in light of current genetic and genomic knowledge” for Quaternary International.
John Dossey, MAT emeritus, co-authored Mathematics Education in the United States: 2016. The book was written at the behest of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the U.S. National Commission on Mathematics Instruction at the National Academy of Science as the Commission’s U.S. National Report for the Thirteenth International Congress on Mathematics Education held in Hamburg, Germany.
Presentations
Lisa Szczepura, and Steven Peters, CHE, both presented at the 252nd ACS National Meeting, Philadelphia. Szczepura presented “Preparation and Study of Rhenium Based Cluster Complexes,” and Peters presented “Electron Initiated Dimerization and Trimerization of Alkyl Isothiocyanates.”
