The State Employees Combined Appeal (SECA) campaign returns to Illinois State this fall.
An ice cream social will kick off the campaign from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, in the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center. All Illinois State faculty and staff are invited to attend. Those making SECA donations that day will be entered into a raffle drawing.
The SECA campaign allows all state employees to donate to international, area, and local charities vetted through the state. SECA Illinois supports nearly 2,000 charities. Find all the charities listed on the Charity Search Engine on the SECA Illinois website. One hundred percent of contributions are sent directly to the designated charities.
“From the American Heart Association to Special Olympics, it’s easy to find your favorite charities, and even easier to give,” said Shelly Braxton of Parking Services, this year’s SECA co-chair with Judi Khalilallah of the Dean of Students Office. “This is our chance to show how Redbirds care.” Read stories of how SECA impacts Illinois State employees.
For the first time this year, donations may be made online at the SECA Illinois website. Participants must register on the site to make a donation. Employees can also donate through payroll deduction, or write checks directly to the charities and send them through campus mail to Campus Box 3090.
A link to the complete list of SECA charities as well as the donation forms can be found on the Redbirds Care SECA website. The SECA campaign runs until November 15.
