MusicScores! will be the topic of the next University Club (U-Club) Friday, December 2, in the Faculty/Staff Commons of the Bone Student Center.
All faculty, staff, annuitants, and guests are welcome to attend. The event begins at 3:30 p.m., with the presentation beginning at 4:30 p.m.
The Illinois State University School of Music is partnering with Heartland Head Start for the second year in a row, implementing the literacy-based music curriculum called “MusicScores!” as part of the pre-K classroom schedule. School of Music faculty members Christiana Reader and Adriana Ransom will discuss the benefits and challenges of this program, and will highlight ways in which instruction on the violin can help underserved preschool children prepare for kindergarten.
