The complete schedule for the 2017 University-Wide Teaching and Learning Symposium, including session times and descriptions, can be found in the official Illinois State University mobile app.
The symposium, which takes place Thursday, January 12, will feature more than 40 individual, panel, and poster presentations by Illinois State faculty and staff. Sessions will explore a variety of topics related to the theme, “Start Where You Are: The Journey Towards Cultural Responsiveness.”

This year’s keynote speaker is Ernest Morrell, Macy Professor of English Education and director of the Institute for Urban and Minority Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. He will offer a special early morning workshop in addition to his keynote address. Also new this year: A special “Idea Cafe” strategy swap session starting at 8:30 a.m. and an expanded poster session and closing reception, featuring drinks and light hors d’oeuvres, starting at 4 p.m.
Registration is free and includes the luncheon. Seating is limited, and the deadline to register is December 16.
