An update from Douglas Jackson ’91, M.A. ’93, who graduated from Illinois State University with a master’s degree in foreign languages with a focus on Spanish.
“Currently I teach Spanish for Specific Purposes and Service Learning courses in Nicaragua at the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Illinois State University prepared me for Peace Corps (Cape Verde, Africa from 1994-1995) and these 20-plus years of teaching college. What a great program! Foreign language professors like Drs. Kurtz, Laurenti, Lower, and Villarubla made me the teacher that I am today.
Thanks Illinois State!”
