Professor of Accounting Debbie Lindberg joins the College Dean’s Office as the new interim associate dean for Accreditation and Operations. Lindberg joined Illinois State University in 1997. She earned a doctorate from Boston University, an M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
Lindberg teaches both undergraduate and graduate auditing classes. She is a CPA and a member of numerous professional and academic organizations, including the Illinois Society of CPAs, Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, the American Accounting Association, and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Lindberg received an “Outstanding Educator” award from the Illinois CPA Society in 2009. She has also received numerous teaching, service, and research awards at the Department of Accounting, College of Business, and University levels. She was the:
- Recipient of the William and Nancy England Faculty Accounting Scholar Award for 2016-2017.
- Recipient of the Caterpillar Faculty Accounting Award for 2015-2016.
- Recipient of the Ernst and Young Faculty Accounting Award for 2014-2015.
- Recipient of the Stephen Hagge Faculty Accounting Award for 2013-2014.
Lindberg has published in numerous journals, including the IMA Educational Case Journal, The International Journal of Accounting, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Issues in Accounting Education, The CPA Journal, Internal Auditor, Strategic Finance, and the Journal of Insurance Regulation.
