Homecoming has a long, lasting legacy on the Illinois State campus, particularly the parade and football game. Since 1919, the parade has grown to become one of the most highly attended events during Homecoming week. Alumni, families, friends, and the Bloomington-Normal community gather along the parade route to watch the showcase of Redbird spirit.
Illinois State departments, registered student organizations, and community organizations are invited to be a part of this Redbird legacy on October 21! Registration is available until October 16. Prizes will be awarded to the top three campus entries and top three community entries. The Homecoming Parade will also be streamed live from the Illinois State University Facebook page for those that cannot make it out that Saturday.
After the Parade, Homecoming guests can head over to the Redbird Tent Zone and tailgate area where many colleges and departments will host tailgates for alumni, employees, guests, and current students.
Then at 2 p.m., Hancock Stadium will fill with fans as the Redbirds take on South Dakota. Those interested in tickets can visit Athletics’ ticket site to purchase.
