National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) continue to make a positive impact by mentoring their peers to promote school improvement, improve student learning, and develop accomplished teachers through collaborative learning communities. The dedication of National Board mentors is recognized and respected by those in the education field. The Illinois State Board of Education is showing their support for the positive impact that NBCTs make through mentoring. An annual incentive will be paid to each qualified educator with priority given to teachers employed by low-income or low-performing schools.
