An essay by Robert McLaughlin, ENG, titled “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Original Cast Recording) (1979)” was added to the National Registry of Recorded Sound, Library of Congress.

Lisya Seloni, ENG, and Yusuf Sarfati, POL, published “Linguistic landscape of Gezi Park protests in Turkey: A discourse analysis” for the Journal of Language and Politics.

Logan Miller, ANT, published “The morphometrics and microwear of a small Clovis assemblage from Guernsey County, Southeastern Ohio, U.S.A.” in the Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports.

Ali Riaz, POL, co-authored an essay on the 1947 Indian Partition in a special issue of the Daily Star of Bangladesh. The essay, titled “THE 1947 PHENOMENON: In search of new voices” was co-authored with alumna Fahmida Zaman ’17 for a special issue of the newspaper on the partition.

Phakkhananan Pakawanit, Jun-Hyun Kim, CHE, were co-authors of “Polymer Particles Filled with Multiple Colloidal Silica via in situ Sol-Gel Process and Their Thermal Property” and “Ag/Au/Pt Trimetallic Nanoparticles with Defects: Preparation, Characterization, and Electrocatalytic Activity in Methanol Oxidation” for Nanotechnology. Kim was also one of the authors of “Regulating the Catalytic Function of Reduced Graphene Oxides Using Capping Agents for Metal-Free Catalysis” for ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces.

Presentations and performances
Meghan Leonard, POL, presented “Gender and Opinion Assignment on State Supreme Courts” at the 2017 State Politics and Policy Conference, in St. Louis.

Scott Jordan, Leandra Parris-Griffis, and Eric Wesselmann, PSY, all took part in the panel “Supervillain Psychology: Who Wants To Be A Supervillain?” at the Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago.

Steve Halle, ENG, performed “Poetry: Steve Halle” (two visual poems with artist’s statement) at the Queen Mob’s Teahouse.
