As Illinois State University focuses on efforts to strategically increase and foster international and online initiatives, Perry Schoon has been named interim associate vice president for global education and online initiatives, beginning June 1, 2018.
Schoon, ’89, ’97, has served as dean of Illinois State’s College of Education since 2012. Under his leadership, the College’s reputation continued to increase with extraordinarily high candidate scores on the edTPA and high rankings across industry evaluators. In his new position, Schoon will help develop the ISU INTO joint venture to recruit international students and be responsible for developing a plan for enhancing online learning at the University.
“Dean Schoon’s recent ACE Fellowship experience uniquely positions him to lead our efforts in the areas of international Pathways and online endeavors,” said Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Jan Murphy.
Kevin Laudner, associate dean of the College of Applied Science and Technology, has been appointed interim dean for the College of Education beginning June 1, 2018. Laudner will serve in that capacity until a national search for a permanent dean has been completed.
