Illinois State University awarded the following individuals with doctoral degrees:
Theresa Anne Adelman-Mullally received a doctorate in nursing. The daughter of Gerald Griffin and the late Betty Griffin of Bloomington, she is the wife of Kenneth Mullally of Peoria. Mullally is currently an assistant professor at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She received a master’s and bachelor’s degree in nursing from Illinois State University’s Mennonite College of Nursing.
Mullally is a member of the Illinois Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and National League for Nursing. She is also associated with the International Society of Nurses on Addictions, Sigma Theta Tau International Society of Nursing (Xi Pi Chapter and Epsilon Epsilon Chapter), and the Midwest Nursing Research Society.
Sheryl Ann Emmerling received a doctorate in nursing. The daughter of Shirley and Joseph Ellena of Standard, Illinois, she is the wife of Terry Emmerling Jr. of Granville. Emmerling is currently the magnet program director of OSF HealthCare in Peoria. She received a master’s degree in nursing from OSF HealthCare SFMC College of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois.
Emmerling is a member of the Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders, the Midwest Nursing Research Society, and Sigma Theta Tau.
Victoria Graziano received a doctorate in education. She is the daughter of Barb Graziano and the late Anthony Graziano of Oak Forest, Illinois. Graziano is currently a math teacher at University High School in Normal. She received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Illinois State University, and a master’s degree in mathematics from Eastern Illinois University. Graziano has an additional bachelor’s degree in bible studies from Lincoln Christian University.
Kristi Probst received a doctorate in special education. The daughter of Toni and Richard Helton of Savoy, Illinois, she is the wife of Jason Probst of Hortonville, Wisconsin. Probst currently works as an initiative lead at the National Center of Deaf and Blindness in Monmouth, Oregan. She received a bachelor’s degree in deaf education, and a master’s degree in low-vision and blindness from Illinois State University.
Probst is a member of the National Consortium in Sensory Disabilities, the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired, and the Council for Exceptional Children.
Dilini Sewwandi Samarajeewa received a doctorate in molecular biology. The daughter of Chandrika Rajanee and the late Stanly Samarajeewa of Sri Lanka, she is the wife of Dinesh Priyal of Hollister, California. Samarajeewa is currently a research assistant at Illinois State University. She received a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from Wayamba University in Sri-Lanka, and a master’s degree in biological sciences from Eastern Illinois University.
