Interdisciplinary studies reach beyond our academic silos. Join a panel of Illinois State University faculty members on February 16 for a thought-provoking discussion on interdisciplinary programs, and the place of interdisciplinary studies in higher education at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 16, in Stevenson Hall, room 401. There is no cost for admission.
The program aims to encourage Redbirds to recognize the importance of interdisciplinary studies. Special focus will be given to potential collaborative works in African American Studies, African Studies, Ethnic Studies, Latin American and Latino Studies, Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies, Native American Studies, and Women’s and Gender Studies.
Hosted by the Latin American and Latino/a Studies program, panelists for the event will include:
- Professor Touré Reed from the Department of History
- Professor of Music Ama Oforiwaa Aduonum
- Professor Susan Kalter from the College of Arts and Sciences
- Associate Professor Alejandro Enriquez from the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures
- Instructional Assistant Professor Tanya Díaz-Kozlowski from Women’s and Gender Studies program
Associate Professor of Languages, Literatures and Cultures Juliet Lynd and Professor of Latin American and Latino/a Studies Maura Toro-Morn will moderate the discussion.
