Gianna Mosser
Gianna Mosser, editor-in-chief of Northwestern University Press, will present “University Press Publishing: An Introduction and Best Practices” from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 23, at the Publications Unit at Illinois State University in Williams Hall Annex.
The event is free and open to the public. A question-and-answer session will follow the talk.
In her role as editor-in-chief, Mosser acquires works in critical ethnic studies, gender studies, comparative literature, theater and performance, and early modern literature. She is a member of the Association of American University Presses, where she previously served as the chair of the professional development committee. Prior to joining Northwestern University Press in 2009, Mosser was the managing editor of Social Psychology Quarterly, a flagship journal of the American Sociological Association. She has a master’s degree in the humanities from the University of Chicago, where she focused on postcolonial theory and literature.
The talk is part of the Publications Unit Professional Speaker Series, which features publishing professionals working in a variety of roles in the field, allowing them to connect with interested students as well as faculty and community members.
