Facilities Management and Environmental Health and Safety staff members, along with Normal Fire Department personnel, will be testing building standpipes across the Illinois State University campus during the remainder of June. Temporary lane closures to accommodate fire department vehicles near campus buildings will be necessary during the testing.
The process of testing standpipes may cause periodic discoloration of the water in some campus buildings. The discoloration is harmless and can be cleared by letting the water run for a short time.
