The rich history of Illinois State University will come alive during Homecoming through the vibrant voice of University Archivist April Anderson-Zorn with a tour and talk.
To help celebrate Homecoming: Redbirds Rising, Anderson-Zorn and Associate Director for Event Services and Catering Barb Dallinger will lead a free, historic tour of the University Quad from 11:15 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday, October 13. The tour begins at Old Main Memorial Garden on the Quad, where the Founder’s Bell is located. The tour will delve into the evolution of the Quad, with stories about buildings present and gone.

The day before the tour, Anderson-Zorn will lead a talk with the University Club. Based on the recently published book The History Series, Illinois State University, The Walls Speak: Telling ISU’s Story Through its Campus Buildings will explore the stories behind the brick and mortar from 4-5:30 p.m. Friday, October 12, in the Founder’s Suite of the Bone Student Center. The book will also be available to purchase at a special Homecoming price of $20. The talk is free and open to the public.
