The Center for the Study of Education Policy (CSEP) has received a Stone Foundation grant for $60,000 that will run from October 1, 2018, through September 29, 2019. The project titled Leadership for Equity Principal Preparation and Development complements CSEP’s TEAM Lead federal grant.
Comprehensive School Leadership (CSL) Hubs identified improving the cultural competency of principals as a key driver for school improvements. This project will develop “Leadership for Equity” microcredentials and a cultural audit process that the hubs will use to support principal preparation programs and local school districts in their regions.
This grant will deepen the work of the CSL Hubs that were piloted in the previous two Stone Foundation grants. The Hub Advisory Committee identified a focus for improving principals’ cultural competency as a key strategy for equitable outcomes in their region’s schools and principal preparation programs.
