John Baur, associate vice president for Research and Graduate Studies has named Noelle Selkow the interim director of the Graduate School effective January 1. A search for a permanent director is anticipated to begin in the 2019-2020 academic year.
Selkow replaces Amy Hurd, who accepted a position as associate vice president for undergraduate education.
Selkow joined the School of Kinesiology and Recreation at Illinois State University in 2011 and was promoted to associate professor in athletic training with tenure in 2017.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from Mount Union College, Selkow earned her master’s degree along with her Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. She has served as the graduate program director, director of graduate athletic training education, and the Graduate Athletic Training Reaccreditation Committee. She also sits on the College Research Council, the Graduate Council, and the University Research Council.
Selkow will oversee a graduate school that includes 2,500 students in 92 master’s degree, 10 doctoral degree, and 33 certificate programs. She will also work closely with approximately 50 internal graduate coordinators and support staff, as well as maintain relationships with external funding sources.
