A planned power outage for a limited number of buildings in Illinois State University’s central campus area is scheduled from 4-5 a.m. Tuesday, August 13. The outage will allow Ameren crews to perform preventative maintenance at the power substation near the Heating Plant. These are follow-up repairs related to an unplanned campus power outage in July.
Buildings impacted by the planned outage are Hovey Hall (and annex), Old Union, Williams, Centennial East, Centennial West, Schroeder Hall (and annex), Edwards Hall, Cook Hall, Moulton Hall, Felmley Hall of Science (and annex).
No residence halls, dining centers, or campus data centers will be impacted.
The planned power outage and repairs have been scheduled during early morning hours to minimize disruption to campus operations. Measures are being taken to ensure the safety and security of people and facilities and the continuity of operations during the outage. Telephone service in impacted buildings may be limited during the power outage.
University personnel are advised to plan ahead with special attention to lab equipment, refrigerators, or other equipment that may be adversely impacted during the power outage. In the interest of safety, please do not attempt to use elevators during the outage.
