Michael Hendricks
The Sociology and Anthropology Research Series at Illinois State University will present a talk from Michael Hendricks titled “Religion, Resistance, and Resource Extraction in Latin America” at noon Friday, September 6, in Schroeder Hall, room 206. The event is a brown-bag lunch.
Hendricks, an Illinois State assistant professor in the Department of Politics and Government, will discuss how the existing literature on resource extractive resistance, to date, has largely ignored religion and religious spirituality’s influence. Hendricks has written extensively on the topic, and is a co-author of the book Religion, Resistance, and Resource Extraction in Latin America.
The Sociology and Anthropology Research Series is free and open to the public.
