Paul Meister, coordinator of academic services in the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment, will present a talk at 4 p.m. Friday, November 15, at the University Club in the Founders Suite of the Bone Student Center. The talk will begin at 4 p.m. to accommodate the speaker’s busy schedule.
Famed explorer John Wesley Powell, Civil War veteran and first person to successfully navigate the Grand Canyon, has strong ties to Illinois State University and the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment. Meister will discuss the fascinating story of how several of the many artifacts that Powell collected were recently repatriated to the Natural History Museum of Utah.
All faculty, staff, annuitants, and ISU community members are welcome to attend the University Club from 3:30-5:30 p.m. this Friday in the Founders Suite of the Bone Student Center.
