Marcela Lopez, Spanish Lecturer
Marcela Lopez (M.A., Spanish, University of Missouri-Columbia), has joined the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures this 19-20 academic year as Spanish lecturer.
Lopez taught junior and senior high school Spanish and Spanish literature for several years in Mexico City and is also certified to teach the Montessori method. She began teaching Spanish at the college level as a graduate student and has continued ever since.
Regarding her philosophy for teaching, Lopez said, “As an instructor my goal is to get students excited about learning a foreign language and to be aware of the possibilities that being fluent in another language brings. I like to try new technology to find innovative ways of engaging my students in the learning of Spanish.” Welcome Ms. Lopez!
