Honors
Thomas Fuller, HSC, was named president-elect of the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA), the umbrella organization for industrial and occupational hygiene organizations around the world. Fuller, who has served as the American Industrial Hygiene Association’s (AIHA) representative to IOHA for two years, will become IOHA’s president later this year, and will serve as IOHA past president in 2021–2022.
Ellis Hurd, TCH, has been named the Specialized Professional Association coordinator for middle level teacher preparation and licensure/certification of the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE). In that role, Hurd will coordinate all aspects of the national review of middle level teacher preparation programs and serve as the official liaison between AMLE and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.
Publications
Jun-Hyun Kim and Wongi Jang, CHE, were two of the authors on “Encapsulated Gold Nanoparticles as a Reactive Quasi-Homogeneous Catalyst in Base-Free Aerobic Homocoupling Reactions” in ChemCatChem. They were also co-authors of “Regulating the Integrity of Diverse Composite Nanofiber Membranes using an Organoclay” for the Journal of Membrane Science.
Presentations
Christopher Breu, ENG, presented “Materialism’s Mediations: Thinking New Materialism and Marxism Together” at a roundtable on Marxism and New Materialism at the Modern Language Association Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington.
T.Y. Wang, POL, was a panelist on “Interpreting Taiwan Elections 2020: What Do the First 30 Days Tell Us?” at the Sigur Center for Asian Studies, George Washington University.
