The application deadline for Civil Service Council Scholarships and the Carl Johanson Scholarship has been extended to June 30.
Created in 1965 to offer financial assistance, the Civil Service Scholarships are for dependents of Illinois State University Civil Service employees who are attending Illinois State.
Criteria include:
- Candidates must be a child living in the household and/or be a dependent of a full-time Illinois State Civil Service-status employee
- Candidates must be a full-time student, working toward an undergraduate degree or diploma
- Candidates must have a grade point average of “C” or above in high school and/or college
Students’ achievements and needs are taken into consideration.
The CS Scholarships are made possible through funds presented by the Illinois State University Foundation and the Civil Service Council’s fundraising activities. More information on the scholarship is housed on Scholarship Finder or can be found on the CS Council website.
The Carl Johanson Scholarship was endowed by Al and Elaine Goldfarb and is named for Elaine’s father. The recipient must be an Illinois State University Civil Service employee and a student at ISU who is seriously working on a degree.
