The ISU Annuitants Association (ISUAA) is continuing its new membership drive and has extended the deadline for the prize drawing to May 31.
The ISUAA is the local chapter of the State Universities Annuitants Association (SUAA) and serves employees of Illinois State University that participate in SURS, and retirees that receive a SURS pension, their spouses, and survivors.
“We encourage current employees to become members to support all efforts of SUAA in protecting your benefits,” said ISUAA President Gail Lamb. “ISUAA is not and never has been an organization just for retirees.”
During the membership drive, any employee who becomes a new member, and any employee/retiree who refers (brings in) a new member, will have his or her name entered in a drawing for one of three Amazon gift cards. There will be three recipients: one to receive a $100 gift card, and two who will each receive a $50 gift card.

Annual fees are $46. Of that, $39 goes to the SUAA, and $7 goes to the ISUAA. For those who choose payroll deduction, it is only $4.60 a month/ten months. Last year’s membership drive welcomed an additional 87 members.

SUAA is the major lead organization in the state actively working to protect the pension system and health care benefits for all of us who contribute to SURS. SUAA’s main goal for 2020 is to protect the retirement security for all past, present, and future employees of Illinois public universities, community colleges, and their families.
