As Illinois State University employees return to work this summer under the Redbirds Return plan, the health and safety of the campus community continues to be our highest priority.
Face coverings are required, consistent with state directives, for employees and visitors in all common indoor areas, defined as any space where more than one individual may be at a time (hallways, restrooms, breakrooms, dining facilities, retail establishments, elevators, stairwells, office reception, etc.). Face coverings are also required in outdoor spaces when social distancing cannot be performed.
The Return to Work Toolkit provides more information on the use and care of face coverings, as well as workplace health and safety, cleaning procedures, shared spaces, signage, and other guidance for employees and supervisors.
The Illinois Board of Higher Education is expected to provide colleges and universities with further guidance on return to work and return to learning procedures, which may impact elements of the Redbirds Return plan. Updates will be provided as appropriate.
