Former Illinois State football player James Robinson (2015-19) was named the Offensive Rookie of the Month for his performance in the month of September, as announced by the National Football League (NFL) on Thursday morning.
Robinson, an undrafted free agent, collected 339 scrimmage yards and ran for three touchdowns in his first month as the starting running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He rushed for 210 yards with 4.9 yards per carry, also catching 10 passes for 129 yards.

The Rockford, Illinois native concluded his standout career at Illinois State in the fall of 2019, finishing ranked No. 2 in rushing yards (4,444), rushing touchdowns (44), all-purpose yards (5,218), and total touchdowns (46). He was a a two-time STATS FCS Walter Payton Award finalist and a consensus first-team All-American with honors from multiple organizations his senior season.
Jacksonville plays host to the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday, October 4 at TIAA Bank Field. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. CT and will be aired on CBS.
