Classroom Tech Tasting
Friday, April 23 • 11 to 11:30 a.m.
Friday, April 23 • 2 to 2:30 p.m.
As we look forward to the fall semester back in the classroom, Learning Spaces and A/V Technologies (LSAVT) is hosting a Classroom Tech Tasting to demonstrate a couple of technologies that will be available to instructors. We invite you to see these technologies in action. Two particular issues are being addressed in this session:
- For instructors having to deal with a “suddenly blended classroom,” any classroom can be outfitted with a classroom microphone to enable your online students to hear their in-person classmates’ questions and answers, as well as engage in real-time class discussions.
- Speaking in a mask naturally muffles your voice. Couple this with having to project your voice for one or more class periods will be taxing to the instructor as well. To deal with this issue, we will be making a personal voice amplifier available to instructors. This device includes a microphone and personal speaker that you can wear using the provided strap or on your belt.
Ed Tech Tasting
Monday, April 26 • 9 to 10 a.m.
Get a little taste of four of Illinois State’s newest educational technology tools (Nearpod, Padlet, Flipgrid, and Edpuzzle) at this faculty-led showcase. Your 10-minute tasting of each technology will include a brief description, pedagogical examples, resources/instructions for next steps, and a short Q&A session. Although these tools were introduced in the virtual classroom, these tools can be used in-person, synchronously, or asynchronously.
