McLean County healthcare leaders Jessica McKnight and Laurie Round will report on COVID-19: Managing Locally a Global Pandemic at noon Wednesday, April 28, as part of the free, online International Seminar Series. The event is open to the public with advance registration.
Round is chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, and Carle Eureka Hospital in Eureka, Illinois. Her remarks will focus on how the hospitals have managed the pandemic under her leadership.
McKnight has been the administrator of the McLean County Health Department since January 2020, and her portion of the talk will focus on the local COVID-19 vaccination roll-out. The one-hour online event includes time for audience questions.
This presentation is part of the Spring 2021 International Seminar Series, COVID 19: International Perspectives, a collaboration between Illinois State University’s Office of International Studies and Programs and the Mennonite College of Nursing (MCN). The series coordinators are MCN Dean Judy Neubrander and Dr. Susana Calderon.
“Illinois State University and the Mennonite College of Nursing have a strong relationship with our local health care providers that has been critical as we have experienced the challenges of COVID-19 in our community,” said Neubrander. “These two leaders will give us an inside perspective on the barriers and solutions our community has navigated for the last 12 months.”
