As part of regular maintenance, crews with the Town of Normal will be flushing fire hydrants in the areas around the Illinois State University campus starting October 5. Between October 11 and 15, Facilities plumbing shop staff will flush on-campus hydrants.
The process of flushing hydrants may cause periodic discoloration of the water in some campus buildings. The discoloration is harmless and can be cleared by letting the water run for a short time.
