Illinois State University’s annual Music for the Holidays is celebrating its 30th anniversary year with concerts on Saturday and Sunday, December 4 and 5 in the University’s Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall.
Students in the School of Music will present a musical welcome to the holiday season with performances by the ISU Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers, and Symphony Orchestra. The concert program will include traditional carols such as Stille Nacht, holiday classics including Sleigh Ride, family favorites such as A Charlie Brown Christmas, and modern works including “Gloria” from Ariel Ramirez’s Misa Criolla.
Showtimes will be at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, December 4, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 5.
- The Saturday afternoon performance will also feature the ISU String Project’s Sinfonia class and the Treble Choir.
- The Saturday evening performance will also feature the ISU African Drumming and Dance Ensemble, the advanced Treble Choir, and Belle Voix.
- The Sunday afternoon performance will also feature ISU’s Jazz Combo I and Men’s Glee.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for faculty and staff, and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets are available only at the CPA Box Office in person or by phone at (309) 438-2535. The Box Office, located in the Center for the Performing Arts Lobby, is open 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday.
