Toys for Tots of McLean County is happy to partner with ISU and the Civil Service Council again this year for our 2021 campaign “Nothing stops the Claus.” Last year we collected and gave away 16,952 toys to 4,642 children in the community. We are asking for your help again this year to have an impact on a child’s life. We are accepting new unwrapped toys for children ages 0-12, from November 1 thru December 13 at nine drop-off locations around campus. All of us here at Toys for Tots thank you for being such loyal partners.
Drop boxes will be placed around campus in the following locations:
- The Alumni Center on North Main Street
- DeGarmo Hall, third floor
- Facilities Management, Carter Harris Physical Plant
- Hovey Hall, first floor
- Milner Library, break room
- The Nelson Smith Building
- The Office of the Registrar, Moulton Hall
- The Office of Residential Life
- Uptown Crossing
This is the 10th year of the successful partnership which helps provide toys to over 4,000 underprivileged children in Bloomington/Normal and throughout McLean County.
For questions about the toy drive, please contact ISU/Toys for Tots Liaison Troy Zeigler at 438-5516.
The McLean County Toys for Tots was affiliated with the drive based with the “Charlie Company” Marine Reserve Unit in Peoria, Illinois. However, in McLean County the drive was run by a group of dedicated volunteers made up of local businesses and retired Marines. Prior to Christmas 2000, it was decided that the McLean County drive would apply to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to be an independent campaign or Local Community Organization. That designation was granted, and for over 15 years McLean County Toys for Tots has worked to make sure children in need in our community would have a brighter Christmas.
