Finals week is upon us, MCN family—Saturday, December 4, 2021, to Friday, December 10, 2021! We know how stressful finals can be, especially for nursing students. Here are a few study tips to help you out on final exams:

  1. Strengthen your weaker areas. Some topics naturally come easier for you. When studying, concentrate on topics that are more difficult for you to increase the chances of scoring well in those areas on the final.
  2. Spread out your study sessions. Avoid cramming for all your exams all at once. You’re more likely to do well if you pace yourself and set aside ample time to study. Approach studying like a marathon, not a sprint.
  3. Take breaks in between study sessions. Breaks provide time to de-stress, so relax your body and mind. Take a walk, or share a meal with friends or family. Grades are important, but so are your mental and physical well-being.

If you’re looking to relax and refresh between study sessions, you can stop by Milner Library 2-4 p.m., December 7 to hang out with certified therapy dogs at their PAWSitively Stress Free event. You can also listen to MCN’s new podcast MCN On Air, which highlights MCN students who inspire us and other aspects of nursing at Illinois State University.

Good luck with your exams, and go, you Redbirds!
