Illinois State University will celebrate the 30-year career of Barb Dallinger, associate director of Events and Catering in Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 28, in the Brown Ballroom I of the Bone Student Center.
Dallinger began her time at Illinois State in the College of Fine Arts and went on to hold various positions in the Division of Student Affairs including University Housing Services, Campus Dining Services, the Dean of Students Office, the Bone Student Center/Braden Auditorium, and EMDH. She will officially retire on January 31, 2022.
A Central Illinois native, she received both her bachelor’s degree in music education and Master of Science in Education in college student personnel administration from Illinois State University. Her achievements include being named Advisor of the Year, receiving the Distinguished Service Award, the Women in Communication Innovation Award, and the Neal R. Gamsky Quality of Student Life Award.
“My love of Illinois State’s history and working directly with the student organizations such as PRIDE, UPB, InfoCentre, and BSC/BA student employees has been the highlight of my career here,” said Dallinger.
