Due to the impending winter storm with forecasts for ice, heavy snow, and high winds, Illinois State University will be closed Thursday, February 17. All classes (in-person, hybrid, and online) will be cancelled and will not be delivered remotely. Any exams or assignments due February 17 will be rescheduled. Residence halls and residential dining centers will remain open. All other campus buildings will be closed Thursday.
Weather essential personnel should report to work, but no other employee, regardless of current work location (on-campus or remote) should report to work during the closure.
All on-campus events scheduled for Thursday, February 17 are cancelled.
At this time, the University is scheduled to reopen on Friday, February 18. The University will continue to monitor the weather forecast and provide updates on campus operations if necessary.
Grounds workers will be clearing sidewalks, steps, and parking lots as weather conditions permit. Please use extreme caution as you move about campus due to ice, snow, and high winds. Avoid unessential travel.

- Residential dining centers, Watterson Dining Commons and Marketplace at Linkins, will be open from 9 a.m.–8 p.m., February 17.
- On-campus COVID-19 testing sites will be closed February 17.
- Surface red (faculty/staff) and green (commuter student) parking lots will close at 11:59 p.m. today, February 16, until Friday, February 18, at 7 a.m. for snow removal. Individuals required to be on campus during this time may park in any of the campus parking garages.
