We encounter food and nutrition information daily. Some information can be hard to navigate, and some foods may be intimidating to try. To increase access to nutrition information, Health Promotion and Wellness is hosting Nutri-Fest 2022 on April 20 in the Circus Room of the Bone Student Center. This event is co-hosted by Event, Management, Dining, & Hospitality (EMDH).
Event details
When: 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., April 20
Where: Circus Room, Bone Student Center
What: Nutri-Fest 2022 follows the theme of this year’s National Nutrition Month: Celebrate a World of Flavors. Foods will be highlighted from different cultures around the globe. This is a free event for students, faculty, staff, and retirees of Illinois State University.
Gaining exposure to different foods can help increase the variety of foods one consumes while fostering an appreciation of cultural influences in one’s diet. Attendees will have the opportunity to try samples of international dishes, and recipe cards will be available for those wanting to try more at home. This year’s Nutri-Fest will be zero-waste—our goal is to have 10 percent or less of waste disposed of as trash. We can accomplish this by utilizing recycling and composting, as well as limiting the use of single-use items.
In addition to Health Promotion and Wellness and EMDH, many other organizations from Illinois State University and the surrounding area related to food, nutrition, and healthy living will be in attendance to provide resources and share information.
Join us for Nutri-Fest 2022 to learn about, talk about, and enjoy some food.
